Morning gents, new to the group and the world of Novas. Have just picked a Mk 1/2 1.3 sr class A rally x machine. The lump is the standard 1.3 sr and has to remain so. I am not a guru and keen to accept all advice. She runs well and although very tatty (rally x) is great fun. I have three weeks before the next event, and would like to make sure that I get every inch out of her. Any tips and pointers would be very much appreciated. Regards Chris

I'm guessing you want tuning advice, are you limited as to what can be done mechanically? Things to maybe consider are the timing, make sure its all healthy too, new filters throughout, closer ratio box etc - but thats dependant on current spec/condition etc. :)

Many thanks, she is completely stripped, has cage, H & R coil overs (German) but the lump as I said is standard. Have heard varying opinions on venting the bonnet. As she is running a flat panel filter Some folks have said that vents will cause to much turbulence in the bay and counteract any benefits from colder air. Also hear that the sr does not like a direct cold air system. The box has to stay standard, so mods are limited to handling and squeezing every little bit out of the standard lump. Do more with less and so I ask the advice of the Nova experts. Many thanks in advance.
