Sounds like its sorned
The previous owner has SORN'ed it, and it would normally say "SORN not due". However, SORN does not transfer when a car sells so its currently unlicensed - you need to tax or declare if off road quick to avoid a fine!
thank you.Im taxing it on 8th

Just sorn it to cover yourself :thumb:
You can't sorn a car that you have just bought if you don't have the log book registered in your name as they have stopped printing forms for it.
You can't sorn it online if you don't have the log book in your name.
You can't sorn it by phone if you don't have the log book in your name,
( there's a pattern here )
I'm waiting on my log book coming in for my blue one so I can sorn it.
I tried online, at the post office and by calling the dvla last week and that's the information I was given.
Your fine if your taxing it and use the green slip from the log book.
You can SORN a car without the V5 - you need form V890 and tick the box that says V5 submitted to change the keeper to you.
As if by magic, here's one I prepared earlier (http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/~/media/pdf/forms/V890.ashx) lol
If I could be arsed I'd print that off, but I can't lol
I'll wait to the V5 comes in then sorn it online,
