Has anyone simply removed their bumpers, for the 'naked' look?

Why would anyone want to?

They do serve a purpose as well as looks, but with some of the aftermarket ones you get these days you wouldnt belive it.

I have some video of one of my rally's where we had a small 'altercation' with a tyre wall and 'removed' our front bumper, looked rather agressive.

sorry but i think the coppers would pull u as it's illegel 2 drive around with any sharp protruding metal on the car n i think pc **** would happily say an exposed chassis counts as the above

just my 2p's worth

looks gud on old motors, loadsa peeps do it on mk1 + 2 escorts. looks well hard, but then they av only got small bumpers 2 start wiv. on a nova which used to have full length bumpers it might look suspect. hold on tho i'll juct get me 13mm ratchet out..... :)

I drove mine for a while like this, with many coppers seeing it and not stopping me, got a few funny looks tho, but who cares, looks kinda cool without the carrage bar

again i have seen a fiesta, square boxy shape thing driving round brum. by lea village bus station?? for those of you that know it. i know a couple of you are from round there

i drove for 2 weeks with my bumper off. purely cos i couldnt get in my back garden to do various bits n pieces of work.

drove with my plate in the windscreen, which always fell off the first time i booted it (with old engine LOL - still running this in!)

never got stopped

if u read an mot book it will tell u sharp metal objects on a car r a failure which in the eye of the law is illegal im not tryin 2 argue with ne1 ive gone bumperless a few times. but imagine if u went corner on into sum1 that carriage bar is gona nicely skewer some1s leg 4 them

just sayin not tryin to cause trouble

Err, I wasn't going to leave the carriage bar on, it's of no use and as you say sticks out.
Maybe I will refrase the question for the people that find it hard to understand.
Has anyone removed the bumpers and carriage bars for the naked look?
