Digi boxes

Right anyone on here know owt about digi boxes, reason I ask I am movIng home on Friday and have cancelled my sky as gunna be going for card sharing.

My prob is that my mate who has it already is using a eaglebox hd, but you can't record on them an he hasn't got like a guide for like now an next .


Thing I wanna know is can I just download like a channel guide, and can you get a hard drive to fit it to record or do I need a different box?

Too fiddly mate. On the 500, you can't download an EPG. Can on the HD boxes though.

I just don't like the awkward menus, and I had a power cut a couple of times, which meant the box needed a new image flashed to it and other crap. I don't have the interest in this stuff to get the most from it - which is what you need.

Sky is crap too, but for me, there are no other options.

If your pal already knows the score with card sharing etc then you should be OK?
