this measles thing is getting crazy.... because of that bloke who couldn't get over the fact that his son was autistic, and he decided the MMR jab caused it, without any scrap of scientific proof of any kind, apart from the fact that kids show autism about 6 months older than kids get innoculated with the MMR jab... he managed to scare a generation of people away from protection against 3 very serious illnesses... ask your grans, they'll tell you some horror stories from back in the day...

so who never got the jab??? if you haven't already got booked in, i suggest you do & quick....

the illnesses are also being spread throught the recent immigrants to the uk, because they haven't got their jabs yet, and you need to hear this one... certain religious leaders are claiming that things like polio innoculations are actually a cover for a secret plot to make muslim women infertile...

please FFS get your jabs done...

My eldest son was born shortly after the MMR scare..

We debated for months about whether or not to give him the jab..

At that time, the doctors wouldnt advise either way..

Eventually he had his jabs and never looked back..

It was a no brainer with our second lad..

He had both of his without fail..

We pondered over the jab but being NHS we know it makes sense to have it, we need to take our 4 yr old for a booster before school.

before we set up a bnp office... the illegals aren't exactly in the system, so they can't exactly get the jabs...
and conza123, if they get it, they will be hospitalised, so stay here longer.... so i think your argument falls short...

benn, when i was a kid, we had separate jabs for everything, then the sugar lump... only later did i find out it was the polio medicine!!! lol but, my mum & my mother in law had polio, because they hadn't found a drug for it in the late 40's. my mum has a shorter left arm & a smaller hand, my mother in law has really bad hips & knees cos of it..

and when my mum was pregnant with me (1968) she caught rubella(german measles), which was really quite serious for a pregnant woman to get. the treatment involved lots of massive injections, and until i was born, they had no idea if my vision or hearing would be intact...

people have it a lot easier these days.

ps. i effing hate all syringes.

it was introduced in '88, so you should be ok.. its mostly people born from '86 onwards that are at risk

Like I said, we didn't give it a second thought for our second..

What could happen if you don't have your kids immunised....

I didn't even consider Daniel not having it. It wasn't until I joined baby forums that I realised some people didn't vaccinate their babies. I'll be getting the twins done as soon as possible. They're severely behind on jabs at the moment thanks to being messed around by doctors and then illness.

i had a cough last year burgo. a really bad cough it lasted several months. i'm not a smoker & never have been, but when i started coughing it would knock me off my feet. the doctor had my chest xrayed... they found nowt. then a few months later, i heard on the radio that there was a bout of adult whooping cough doing the rounds. i wouldn't wish it on the bloke who used to carpool my eldest daughter to school, & he was convicted in a police paedo sting

my 3 girls have shown no signs of it.

The ones in the ass.

Yes there are lots of idiots who don't vaccinate their kids, but unfortunately its 100% their call despite the glaring proof of the vaccines benefit.... Its essentially cruelty and abuse to not vaccinate, but alas its not prosecute able :(

Someone I came across refused to vaccinate her children as the child should make the choice

Some people are idiots, we had both our girls vaccinated with no problems they're 13 & 22.

Someone I came across refused to vaccinate her children as the child should make the choice  everywhere has someone as stupid as her....they also read the official baby book, and it says 'by 6 months your child should be eating solids' so they think that at exactly 6 months, suddenly the child wakes up ready for food, when the truth is that for about 3 of those months the poor thing has been starving hungry, but only getting the milk. my mate had a run in with a woman who would only give breast milk or spring water to her baby. and the dad was visiting my mate with the baby, so he was dragged off to get some sma & rusks pronto.. the bloke had to hide the stuff from the mum.

when i was little, when news came round that so & so had chicken pox, all the mums brought their kids round to make sure they caught it early & got it over and done with..

People still do that apparently, there something in the news a while back about it being irresponsible or something...

/\ unbelievable... there is no jab for chicken pox, so making sure a kid gets it is a sure fire way to make sure they won't suffer from it in adulthood..when its called shingles & really hurts

I was born in '86. Although I vaguely remember having some jabs at primary school which if I remember right they were something to do with measles mumps and rubella but separate jabs (I remember some posters on the doors at the school etc) then what they called the BCG at secondary school.

yup, the BCG... that was fun for someone with a lifelong hatred of needles.. a deep seated hatred so bad that i had teeth extracted without any anaesthetic.

You sure that wasnt because anesthetics wernt invented when you were young or just 'cause youre hard as ****?

Never understood why people are so scared of needles, I remember getting checked out at the GUM clinic and they stick a needle with a see thru canister on it to collect the blood, I genuinely thought it was fun to watch. I didn't like the plastic scraper going down my oriental eye, that hurt. Thankfully my results came back clean though.

seriously, i have always been frightened of needles for as long as i can remember. i had a really rough family dentist when i was a kid, the character steve martin played in 'little shop of horrors' was a pussycat compared to her. i have massively crooked teeth cos of her handiwork. and i distinctly remember having 6 people hold me down so she could inject my gum before an extraction, and i still bent 3 needles
