guessing this would be in this section.

my mk2 headlights are still the original ones as they have the same code printed on them as all the other glass on the van so i would prefer to restore them instead of replacing them but i'm just wondering if i can.

i plan on splitting the glass from the headlight to get at the reflector as my drivers side one has gone black at the bottom so it looks a little odd with or without the lights on. once i have split the glass i was wondering if i could use some chrome spray to revive the reflector and make it match the passenger one. or has anyone else restored a headlight in this sort of way and have you got any suggestions?

wierdly this reflector 'damage' doesn't affect the beam pattern at all:tard:

chrome spray probably won't stay on for long. it might be less bother if you can find a replacement light & get a window etching kit. there are loads on the interweb

i'm thinking either chrome spray or new light then swap the glass over from the old unit to the new might try the spray first see how it goes then maybe get a new unit. i just seem to be having trouble finding a new mk2 headlight for a reasonable price

save money on chrome spray and put it towards saving for a decent mk2 lamp.
