Ive recently bought a remote central locking and alarm kit for my corsa I have followed the instructions of negative triger: white wire goes to brown/red and white/black goes to brown/white...and I have also tried earthing both lock and unlock should I try scotching them into the live ??

i dont understand without a decent explanation of how the alarm works or a diagram of how it ties into the central locking module.

try a Corsa B forum perhaps?

Are you trying to install remote central locking to a car which has never had it or are you trying to interface the remote central locking output of your alarm with the OE locking system?

It has central locking but not remote

have you disconnected the switch wire from the drivers door lock?

each door lock that can lock or unlock the central locking will have a switch on it. This will have to be disconnected or cut or it will never operate remotely.

This need to be disconnected ??

yes try it.

for instance if the key (and therefor switch) is in the unlock position the relay is trying to unlock the doors.

if you put a pulse in from somewhere else to 'lock' the relay still sees the door switch in the same place and instantly tries to unlock again.

you often have to do this with aftermarket installs, but not all. it depends on how the OE control unit is configured.

how many other doors used to unlock the central locking? usually its just the drivers door.

I have just removed it and had it dangling the door was in unlocked position and still didnt work off the remote :/ and yeah it is jist the drivers door

The alarm unit I have fitted clicks and nothing happens at the door

When I disconnect the plug with lock and unlock both earthed it locks then unlocks but the remote still doesn't control it

unplugged it or removed the switch from the lock?

Remove the clip that earth's it and let it dangle down

no you need to disconnect it electrically. the earth is not on the switch, the common contact of the switch is tied down to earth/neutral elsewhere. thats why there are 3 wires there.

lock is pulled down to earth on one throw
unlock is pulled down to earth on the other.

How do I disconnect it electrically then ??

surely if you follow the switch wires it comes to a plug/socket where it meets the loom?

So ive disconnected the plug from the lock switch on the handle and the central locking stillworks when the key is turned in the door and when either brown and red or brown and white are earthed it locks or unlocks so at this point im completely confused with it lol

as per PM.

would be much easier to reply in the thread rather than by answering PMs about the same thing too.

yellow and yellow and black need tied to earth/neutral/0v

you can see by the diagram that the relay internally toggles the lock and unlock wires to earth intermittantly
