hey all, after a swift test drive of my let'd nova i manage to break my n/s inner cv joint, as i currently have the car fairly low the angle of the shaft is kinda silly. i took note on what benn had done to his as he broke an inner one a while back, after having a good look through his thread he was checking plunge and extension on the inner joint at particular angles to make sure he had decent movement.

ive had a play with mine and come to the conclusion that my inner cv joint is almost maxed out of travel outwards, having almost 3.5cm of inwards plunge left.

where it normally sits

all this extra plunge

ideally i need to do what benn had done and move the circlip groove in the shaft out so the shaft is longer, right?

when i received my conversion hubs it included these 2 spacers, should these go on the inside of the outer cv joint and bearing? spacing out the shaft to give me extra plunge on the inner joint?

oppinions and thoughts please.

thanks for any help

i think you fit them between the hub & the cv.

I beleave those go between the shaft and hub aswell. I think harry hockley sell different size ones to shim to get correct plunge but any machine shop would make them easy enough.
