yer, its cheeper for me to buy one off ebay than buy a ball and the right tap to do the thread

Thread size??? Its knurled, not threaded. Well my lever was knurled! 12mm dia. IIRC.

agreed, to get one off you have to heat it in hot water and haul it off, not screw it. wtf

buy one slightly bigger than the gear stick diameter & some araldite 2part glue.

I bought an 8 ball off ebay and drilled a 12mm hole and araldite was order of the day. To this day has not moved.

cheers, ive ordered a green spot number 6. araldite is amazing stuff i used it to fit a rear view mirror on my mates van

that's a bit of overkill, you can get mirror sticky pads for that.... araldite is more for bonding metal to metal etc...
