lots of stout balding blokes in car club fleeces, eating bacon rolls & drinking bad tea, whilst rootling thru piles of old cavalier stuff looking for something they might actually need

i think this one is over-rated tbf.. i've seen that stall with the viva sills for a lot of years now. when it was at stoneleigh back in the 90's it was more of a winter show with club stands & tech seminars & was brilliant

Is nova stuff thin on the ground there then? Not really after bits for any other models. Just want standard gsi bits!

Wish I was going could be doing with heaps of little parts plus the chance of new panels etc :(

sport
14-04-13, 11:51 AM
Its not that great Mark i recon you would struggle to find panels there, small parts maybe but you need to rake through hundereds of boxes to find anything.

scorge01
14-04-13, 12:04 PM
Ah is it? Iv never been before is it just people bringing all there old parts or is there places selling ond new stock parts aswell?

Hobbit
14-04-13, 12:27 PM
I wasn't that impressed last year. Much prefer having a look round the auto jumble at Billing as I'm already there. Not worth a separate trip imo.

Few good bits there today, I managed to get a set of really clean Gsi clocks, a new gm sr grill and some mk5 astra mats to keep her indoors happy . Met some nice guys from Ireland who had a stall as well ;)

Benn
14-04-13, 06:52 PM
I wanted them clocks^ but he wouldn't budge on the price...

14-04-13, 07:29 PM
I wanted the gsi rear bumper but he wouldn't split it from the front and I have 3 fronts kicking about and was t paying £150 for a pair of gsi bumpers, Phil got a couple of little bits cheap I bought nothing lol a lot of the nova stuff was way over priced IMO

w88rdy
14-04-13, 08:16 PM
No benn he wouldn't move much but the lads came over from Ireland and needed to earn the money for the ferry some how lol, nice guys though

Novasport
14-04-13, 08:48 PM
The Irish lads with all the rally bits bring the same stuff over year after year, they never seem to sell anything as they ask silly money for everything.

I got a few goodies. Got a new gear lever gaiter for £1, a couple of new rubbing strips, new GM clutch cable, new strut top caps, new steering rack tie rod, pair of new door handles and a few other bits and bobs. Not a great deal there again as usual :(

mowgli
14-04-13, 09:05 PM
i got a perfect gsi lh door off some irish lads 2 years ago for £50, just as they were bringing it into the hall... i called it a bargain at the time

Rage
14-04-13, 09:06 PM
Got a good few bits mainly for my cav but i did get a real cheap set of rear springs and front legs with the springs so now i just need to clean them up a bit, mot her and get them fitted

Hobbit
14-04-13, 09:26 PM
I guess its the same Irish guys I bought my 15 inch OZ rallyes off at Billing.

Not really, if you wanna sell stuff don't over price it.

Isn't a gsi rear identical to a standard bumper bar a cut out for the exhaust?

Iain

Yeah, he's mad for not splitting lol

I went to the spares day for the first time, it wasn't that great

I saw a white Mk2 at the rear of the carpark when I left at about 1pm. I take it was not yours.

I went down in the 208 Feline. Getting bored of it now as it drinks fuel :( 208 GTi on its way but might avoid that, want a diesel again.
