I have many fuel tanks at work for my nova but to be honest I'm unsure what is from what nova . After seeing a Gsi tank on here for sale I'm a bit confused . I have 2 tanks from sr's and also a gte tank and recently bought a Gsi tank .
The gte tank and Gsi tank ?? Both have a unit bolted into the top with a two pin plug but my sr tanks don't . Is this correct ? The Gsi tank I've seen for sale just looks like my sr tanks .

an sr tank wont have a pump on it as the fuel pump is mounted on the head

I know on my sr's that the pump runs on the cam lobe but isnt the gsi/gte pump a separate mounted electric pump?
If so what is the part bolted into the top of my tanks ?

your right about the gte/gsi pump being external but they have got a swirl pot in them i think and the one with a built in pump is a spi tank but you can fit a daewoo mpi pump which will run a gte/gsi engine an a let/xe aswell dont hold me to it as i could be wrong but your best pinching the pic from the for sale thread and posting up some of your own

Sorry to hijack the tread but does anyone know about different positions of the fuel filler neck pipe on tanks, I have two tanks where they are in fundamentally different positions.

yellow tank is definitely NOT a gte or a gsi tank. it is an spi tank from a 1.2 or 1.4 spi engine with a corsa/astra/daewoo pump in it.

they are late mk2 fitment.

the gte/gsi/sri tank is unique in that it has the sender screwed into the back of the tank with 6 small screws & a 12mm(iirc) pipe outlet to connect to the external efi pump.

the carb tanks always have a twist in sender. and the outlets are on the front rh corner. some only have one, some have 2 depending on the carb fitted.

Bang on mowgli,

I would suggest the best way forward these days is to use that yellow tank with the MPI pump as trying to get a GTE/gsi sender is hard these days never mind the pump set up,

Only my opinion but I think the SPI tank with MPI pump is the best set up, loads less stuff under rear end, and yep Basil, sourcing a sender is impossible for them tanks

Yes mate . Thankyou for yours and everyone else's advice.
Ive got lots of gte / gsi pump things in them mounting brackets so I might just use the yellow tank with one of them.

That yellow one is a spi tank not a gte one, someone may of added a mpi so it would work on a gte motor

Four and five door tanks are fed from the rear

Thanks Graeme !! :) I did not know that. I wonder if I can adjust it to fit but probably will just sell it and use the other one.

Anyone want a brand new unused fuel tank for a 5 door ??
