Hi all.

This is my first post so please be gentle with me lol

Ok it's been a while since I owned a nova. 18 years to be precise lol
I've had 3 sr's in my time so used to know everything about them...
These years I don't know much tho :-(
I'm looking at buying a project and there's a decent looking one close to me that I'm going to take a look at.
It's an f-reg 1.3sr.
My questions are: what would you say it's worth, it has no engine and needs a front end respray because its had new panels.
No mot or tax and has odd wheels.
It's supposed to have no rust.
The interior is the later stripes one. I thought the f-reg had the Burberry still and the stripes came in from a g-reg upwards.
It's a mk1 so I'm happy at that :-) never did like the mk2!

Seller is asking for offers, what should I offer? It obviously needs a fair bit of work and money throwing at it.

My next question is do I source a 1.3 engine and twin webber it? Or go down the 2ltr route?

The car will be only used in the summer months for shows and meets.
The power would be nice, but if the new way is totaly standard I'm happy to comply lol

Any input is welcome :-)

Interior is.correct.

I would offer £200 max. if it's in the condition you describe.

Welcome

And it will have rust it's a nova lol

Providing all the bits are there, £200 ? Hard to say without pics really

1300 engines are quite hard to come across as well

Nova's don't really rust. We have been over this. lol

OP, get yourself a blue oval if you like tin worm and want the cars value to increase more than 50 quid a decade. lol

Thanks for the replies guys :-)

I'm popping over to look at it hopefully tomorrow so will take pics.
I was thinking £300 myself as I've seen complete mk1 sr's sell for £600 to £1600 in various conditions but with mot on them.

I'm not to concerned about rust as long as it isn't as rotten as a pear :-)

Will keep you all updated.

I should hopefully become a permanent fixture here :-)

That's not the one I was talking about, it was a white one. Wasn't an sr at all in the end.

I have just paid a deposit for that blue one tho :-)
It's a solid base! Bit more than I wanted to pay but it's worth it!
The guy is delivering it to me aswel :-)
I'm now the proud owner of a nova sr woooooohooooo lol
