Has anyone had or experienced a short of clicking sound as they are driving from the speedo? As you get faster the noise gets quicker. Proberly not explained this very well.

Sometimes if i get stones in my tyres it sounds like this. Have you checked for stones?

Yeah checked for stones. I have disconnected the speedo cable from the gear box and the sounds isn't there. I have also tried it disconnected from the speedo and the sound had gone. Thing is it didn't do it before I replaced the speedo cable. New cable has a plastic end to it as a posed to a metal end which was on my original.

my stereo ticks to the sound of my distributor, so it doesnt help when i do that.

My click was on a digi dash so that ruled out the cable

Mine did this before the speedo cable broke at the clocks end.

Radio was off and I unplugged the dash and the noise went, plugged back in noise was back

sounds like the dash or a coincidence that you picked up another stone in the mean time.

I had this on my old MK1 when I'd pushed the cable too far into the clocks, also the route taken with the cable was too tight. As Jeff mentioned though I also only found this out after mine snapped... bloody things

Simon try taking it back out and re-route [one for meritlover there] lol

Edd, lighten up ;)

The cable is brand new and have had it out to check its not split or anything. The cable isn't tight to the speedo, or at least I don't think it is.
