nope they didnt and if you come accross one it will have been painted

Don't be so sure about that,

There are part numbers listed for a black mk1 dash on EPC and some of the inserts and blanks can be found but I've not came accross a dash carcus for sale yet.

Yes, they did a black Mk1 dash. I think somebody was selling one on here a while back.

Iv got a coin holder from a black mk1 dash, got it new from ocp. Have seen switch holders too in black.

The main reason for flocking was to stop sun glare off the dash for motorsport. Great for that purpose - not a good look (or in the slightest neccesary) for a road car in my opinion but each to their own.

I've got a feeling that they didn't do a mk1 black dash, obviously the mk2 gsi did have one though:

That website only lists lh drive options and one of them is a lh drive black dash. Only way to get part numbers is vaux or a parts database.

The black dash on there is a mk2.
I'd be surprised if they only did a right hand black mk1 dash.

93 is the code for a 3 door hatchback nova shell, that's why all SR's GTE's GSI's Sports should start VSX000093 along with any other hatch 3 door nova,
