corsa b cd player not working need help!

i have a corsa b when i put a cd player in it turns on and the speakers make a noise but it wont play sound when i put a cd in or try to play the radio can any one help would really appriciate it. thanks

Have you tried turning the volume up?

what noise does it make ? do you mean through the speakers or you can hear the head unit make a noise ?

I'm guessing it makes a 'pop' type noise?

Sounds like the amp is fudged.

On an OP related note, a BCD player is very expensive. I understand his concern.

Could explain his mystery noise. Wonder if he fitted it with a hammer.

My take on it is that the OP has a pile of CD players, all of which have a knackered internal amp.

This could explain the Barry White.

Either way, between us, I reckon we have solved it.

But what happens when you turn the CD player on?

maybe its a pop CD

what type of CD player is it? has it been hash wired with cellotape and twisted wires? there could be a potential fire just away to happen behind your CD player. maybe a wire came loose and the electricity cant jump across a small gap?
