depends on the tarmac surface composition. if its a "close" surface then it will more than likely squeek. and its a corse surface it will just scrub.

and on concrete you get a mixture lol

had to study this a bit (not for sound) for my dissertation lol

Right here we go...

If you have a japanese make of tyres then they will squeak on tarmac as the burning density is higher than european tyres wich would normally smolder.

If they are squeaking on gravel then you must have russian tyres as the russian army developed this to use when people were chasing the armoured vehichles in the war, they could then spit up more gravel towards pursuing traffic.

The best thing to do is go for a good british tyre such as colway then take them onto a airstrip and try and will spin in reverse, this has only ever been managed by one person but he was shot by the army for being on a RAF base :!:

what it is is some times there is no traction whatsoever so no noise, the tyres are just burning. but sumtimes there is a bit of traction so there is a bit of noise, the squeek. its like wen u push ure hand on a polished table itll glide for a while but might squeek and stop. the squeek is the friction.

hope i made sense????
