Having bought himself an new car, my Dad is now selling his Vectra B Estate.
It is a great car and very useful for moving stuff around, or eating up the miles on the motorway.
Spec:
'R' Reg Vectra B Estate 2.5 V6 CDX auto.
Taxed and MOT'd until end of January 2014.
Sequential LPG conversion, meaning this is as cheap to run as a diesel, but with the power and soundtrack of a V6.
Cruise control - great for motorway driving!
Full leather interior, with heated front seats.
Alloy wheels - tyres have good tread all round.
Rear suspension bushes and front discs and pads changed at last service.
Heavy duty springs fitted last year.
Tow bar with caravan electrics.
The good bits:
Very comfy and easy to drive, both around town or on the motorway.
LPG CONVERTED SO CHEAP TO RUN - 15 pence per mile ROUND TOWN (vs. 27-30 pence per mile on petrol). Better fuel economy on long runs.
Loads of load space - LPG tank is in spare wheel well so boot space is not compromised.
This is a very solid and tidy car, with only a few small car park dinks and stonechips.
Early service history, regularly self-serviced since 2009 as per the book.
Great car for towing - Dad has used this for towing a small trailer and a caravan on a couple of occasions and it towed no problems.
The bad bits:
156k miles approximately, although this is nothing for the mighty V6!
Rear screen heater doesn't work
Aircon needs regassing (my Dad is not a fan of air con and preferred to roll the windows down in the summer!)
Slight exhaust blow when cold - suspect leaky EGR valve - but fine when warm.
LHS load cover trim missing (does not really affect functionality)
£795 including tax until January 2014.
There are also a large number of spares for this car that Dad has accumulated over the years, which can be bought separately if required.
