when my gte bumper turns up i'm planning on smoothing out the ridges.
whats best to use fibreglass or filler?
what brands of filler (flexible) are good and won't crack/fall out?
is it a good idea to drill some holes to for a key?
firstly run along each ridge with a grinder to really roughen up the ridges. the rougher they are the better the fill will stick.
Last one i did i filled the ridges with fibre glass and skimmed over the outside with fillers.
use pleanty of the bumper primer (the flexy stuff) cant remember the name of it!
That bumper i did was in a head on smack with another car and the filler just cracked in a few places so its not gonna fall out on ya or anything!
im in the process of doing it right now.
first i poured fibreglass resin in the lines, then fillered over it. im just praying it wont crack.

You could just fill the lot with filler and then flush it back. Will use more filler but save getting the fiber glass resin out.
and crack much more easily!!!
i found that out the hardway with my smoothed GTE bumpers
fibreglass and then a thin skim of filler over the top does the job :P
fibreglass is alot harder to sand back so it takes fookin ages
but well worth the effort 8) 8) 8)
