View Full Version : Retro more door Loonage V6 to 1.5D n/a daily!!

Alright chaps well i need a new daily car and a mate was selling a unfinished C red 4 door he had mounted a V6 engine in and smashed his land rover up and needed fast cash so needed it gone!
So we arranged a deal and ive now got it! Plans are to sell all the V6 stuff and fit a 1.5diesel n/a for daily driving! Im supposed to be getting a Novavan diesel engine tommorow then remove V6 and set about modifiying the petrol chassis leg for the diesel engine mount. Plan is to cut the hole for the mount in the chassis leg as its half already there and make up a 2 or 3mm plate to weld over the hole and weld some captive nuts on the other side, the bays been seam welded but not amazing so will be grinding down the welds and seam sealering the bay. The inside is filthy but has full base spec brown interior also comes with lowered suspension and 2ltr front brakes. Anyway heres some pics -

Sounds like a sensible conversion for once, But what made you want to ditch the V6? it would of been hilarious!

Get a 1700 td in there with the fuel and boost turned up, they still do really good mpg and they actually have enough grunt to get out of their own way, unlike the n/a versions :p

I think im going this conversion on my white mk2 hatch but 1700 version. Itd be interesting to see what plans youve got for the drivers side engine mount?
