Ok, im in the process of getting my car running again after its winter rebuild. Basically it cranks over fine untill i connect the power and earth to the coil, then the voltage drops and it wont crank or if it does, it doesnt sound right.

Im running a h&h dizzy on a c20xe with r1 carbs.

Im thinking its an earth problem maybe?

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers, Ben

what engine was it running originally and have you put a more powerfull battery suited to the engine?

was just trying to rule it out as ive seen alot of people stick a bigger engine in but not fit the battery needed. have you pai ted the bay before it went back in? i would remove all the earths wire brush them and put back on with contact grease first

this description is vague but:

does it spark?
are the leads in the right order and the timing correct?

could be cross firing or firing back on its self.
