Is there such a section on any of the forum topics? Bought an item from a site member through eBay & paid with PayPal and never heard anything since!

did you gift the money?

Don't know if it was sent as a gift or not, not too familiar with paypal to be honest. I won the auction then just made the payment

If it was through eBay, you should be able to start a dispute through there too.

If you won the item through eBay it's not really the forums concern surely?

I can't open a dispute now since its been more than 45 days, in no rush for the item so didn't do anything sooner.

Would you not like to be made aware of members who you shouldn't buy anything from?

not really, thats what eBay feedback is for. Even then its to be taken with a pinch of salt

its always a one sided argument where the seller/buyer/other party very often cant defend himself fairly.

Often comments are made because the buyer is upset and spits the dummy.

There could be a perfectly legitimate reason (there might not be, but there could be). Launch the paypal claim and wait for a result before jumping your guns and posting potentially slanderous remarks

i cant see any rules on here outlining he cant do it and the person its relative to is a active seller on here currently, so why isn't his feedback worth while?

i didnt say he couldnt or shouldnt.

He asked if i would like to know who i shouldnt be doing business with... I said 'not really' and explained my reasons for and against.

just because there isnt a rule, it doesnt mean you shouldn't be responsible.

I would like to know if a forum member is not sending goods through ebay, or any other means.

We have members banned/warnings put against them from other car forums so why not ebay?

However the place to put it is in the buyer/seller feedback area and with sensible information based on fact.

A persons selling history is as valid on here as ebay IMO.

i agree, but its only valid once the final conclusion through the appropriate channels has been realised (ie paypal)

what is 'valid' anyway? I wouldn't necessarily value the opinion of a forum member with 13 posts complaining about a long standing member and contributor.
for all i know he could just be upset with someone he doesn't like, or just trying to put a bad word in first before the other party can sand-bag him.

Totally agree, however with that logic nobody should be allowed to post in the buyer/seller feedback area of the forum about a transaction on PNG until there has been a final conclusion through suitable channels?

I think that is where common sense comes into it, people need to use the feedback as a guide and make their own conclusion as to how reliable and informative it is.

So therefore it is as 'valid' on here for using as a guide as feedback is on ebay etc.

I meant in this case, but at least a transaction on here, both parties can argue their case for everyone to make up their minds.

if you are going to join a forum, post remarks against someone else after less than 20 posts, at least write a decent sequence of events so people can make as much a balanced decision as possible.

Check the buyer/seller feedback section. Some other members have been having the same problem! Meritlover does that fulfil your requirements as opposed to a 'sequence of events?'

if he's already a known offender, why on earth do people still trade with him?

I would say only post feedback relating to ebay sales if you a) know the seller is on here (and I mean usernames, not just 'oh its someone selling nova stuff from xyz-town therefore it must be someone on here') and b) they actively sell on here.

The point of the feedback forum was to support NovaTrader transactions. We (admin) have little responsibility for sales other than providing the means for people to post adverts for stuff. And even less/zero responsibility for sales off-site. We have been a bit proactive in the past by collaborating with other forums, but thats because we can liaise with other users and get the full picture, where as I doubt ebay or paypal will hand out transaction details to some randomers from a car forum...

At the end of the day, ask yourself this: Would you expect to find a comment on ebay feedback that related to an item sold on here and not ebay?
