Recently my nova (1.2 carb) idle speed has dropped it is really only been in the last week or so, I was told that it could be something to do with my K&N air filter but I fitted that a couple of months ago and the problem has only really started recently. I was also told it could be ignition timing but if I haven't touched it then is it going to be out? thanks charlie

does it drive slower than usual too ?

theres various vacuum hoses and pipes than can effect things.
dirt in the carb can make it behave funny.
sometimes idle and mixture screws can rattle loose with the vibration of the engine.
cambelt can sometimes skip a tooth, and knock the timing out.
check plugs and leads too.

could be one of a number of things

remove all doubt and swap the K&N back for a clean standard filter.

check the timing and all vacuum hoses.

check the choke adjustment

what is the idle speed?
