I've got SRi front seats and the drivers one I noticed when pull the lever to put it forward for someone to get in the back then put it back it doesn't click into place. Deffo isn't safe or legal so don't want to put them in my car.

is the cable damaged? they can stretch from what I've heard so re tighten it? or just put a bit of grease on it if it's seizing up

anything can be fixed, just how ingenious you are.

is the cable releasing at the bottom? are the catches siezed up (if they have been stood for a while)? when you lift the handle does it stay raised or drop back down?

to be honest there isnt much to stripping the seats down, but they are such a simple bit of kit i doubt you'll have to go that far

Remove the side covers and if they both lift the cables will be ok but iirc there's a spring that will stop it returning

Weld it in place so it doesn't go forward and fit this sticker, job done,

Chack the pin or pins hasn't broken off the base, happened to the SR, was a weld quality issue years ago, I was hoovering the car out and found the pin broken off!
