Right the car passed the MOT so i suppose its time for a clean, at the moment its pink due to the last owners undoubtable care  (joke rus)

But i want to get it back to life, im not going in for any show and shine comps just want it better than it is (not that hard)

T cut is hassle having to polish it afterwards but does get results, anyone else got any suggestions :?:

nah - avoid that stuff - it stains everything - trim, paint, yer hands the lot!

You need to remove the opxidised layer - tbh I'd use Autoglym products.

You need a paint restorer - then super resin polish - or maybe just super resin polish

Either way - yer gonna need a fair bit of elbow greese -= unless youve got a lambs wool bonnet (halfords) and a variable speed drill!

Just take it easy and watch the edges or corners so as not to burn the paint!

I'd go for AutoGlym products as well. There very good, expensive, but worth it I think.

Hi,

autoglyms great but hardly a "quick fix" -

yes ade, it can stain trim but if youre carful enough that shouldnt be a problem...

up to you ben - yer pays your money and takes your choice

Phil

PS: it may sound gay but try some rubber gloves when using this stuff- stops the skin staining problems....

The entire car is red, no different coloured trim.

Phil is spot on, i only want to give it a quick coat and run not into spending 3 hours putting different things on letting them bed in then buffing off to add another coat etc.

Cheers guys.

right, listen to me. :2gunfire:

get some G3 Rubbing compound from your local spray shop (think B&Q might do it)

rub really hard till arms are bout to fall off, leave car over night(or for couple of hours) come back and rub down with slightly damp cloth, then get to the fun part...

....AUTO GLYM, best stuff around. 'super resin polish' is waht you need, small bottle from halfords for ?8.99 (i think) give it a good once over, then leave for hour and rub down with a slightly damp cloth again and there you go, one show room fit car.

look at my profile, mine was done like that before i took the pics. (ignore the pic of the wheel, muddy rear bumper and exhaust, drove to matchams and it got dirty)

fergie.

lmfao have you read the thread at all?

I want some thing with minimum fuss, im not doubting that your way will get results but im not into "rubbing til my arms fall off"

Micky- i have heard very good things about merguiars.
