if I paint strip my alloys what kind of paint stripper is the best. do some paintstrippers damage the alloy

They all should be fine. But i'd sand them down, will be faster and easier.

they definatly need paint stripping as they are so badly corroded all between the spokes and everywhere so I was going to paint strip them and sandblast any stubborn bits off and then acid treat them to try and beat the corrosion from coming back. So would nitromoors from halfords do it?

If your sand blasting them, just do that from the start.. Same with acid treating them, they should remove the paint.
