clean drums?

i got another set of rear drums for her car as one of hers cracked while removing rust so i have painted the ones i got so should i clean the inside of the drums woth sand paper or somthing ? :roll:

no need, just leave them as they are.

the brake shoes will soon clean the braking surface if theres any dust crap or rust etc formed

what IS advisable though is to remove any grease or oil from the centre etc etc. even finger prints of oil or dirt on the brake surface isnt clever.
