Yeap, yet another car lol

Basically i've wanted a Cavalier for quite a while now but had my mind ser on a early pre-factlift type, something abit special prehaps not poverty spec (Seen as how im 20 this year my insurance is starting to get nice and sensible) Anyways i saw this on Swapz advertised and as soon as i saw it i fell in love with it, but the guy wanted a RWD car to drift, so after a fair amount of messages back and forth faailing to negotiate a cash deal, i went out and bought my mates Volvo 340 with a welded diff for £550, drove it 180 miles or so down to the South Coast of Wales, and exchanged with the guy :d Never have i had to buy a car purely to swap it for one 3 hours later haha!

So anyways here she is, she's a K reg pre-facelift Vauxhall Cavalier SRI 2.0L 8v in white, extreamly clean for its age, rear disc conversion aswell as 5 stud conversion, lowered all round -60mm with Cavalier Turbo wheels, Full stainless steel Scorpion exhaust, GSI rear lights, GSI grille, aswell as few other bits and bobs. Its recently had a full head rebuild aswell as a new cambelt water pump etc with reciepts to prove aswell.

Plans are to do afew changes to make it mine, prehaps fit the standard grille etc, but jsut sort the arches out mainly and get it back to mint then use it as my daily instead of the Saloon, Should start it this weekend :thumb:

she's perfect, i wouldnt even touch it myself, just clean it up and give her an oil change once every now and then :thumb:

used to have a cav, there nice all rounders.
and the 2.0 8v is pretty bulletproof.

whats yours like at getting thrown from left to right to left again ?
any more than 2 turns in succession, and mine used to snap out kinda voilently, and fishtail all over the shop trying to get her back on track.
i do miss the luxury tho - power steering, electric windows, central locking

Cheers for the comments everyone :thumb: Just won a spare Turbo wheel for the boot as its currently got a 14" 4stud, ordered some of the direct replacement clear side indicators, and also found a steering wheen centre that hasnt been aerosoled half black :thumb:

First mods should be a shed load of security imo, disc-lock steering wheel lock/cover, and a decent alarm and immobiliser:thumb:


Then you can clean the vaseline off the lens on your camera and get some decent pics :p

This was my car done all the work to it :-) and the cv joint has gone on the volvo but i have loads of Plans for the volvo

Not updated this in a while due to shoddy internet... so here goes

Raided a white pre-facelift Mk3 Cavalier that came into my scrappy, got a shed load of spares, but the main thing was the pre-facelift blackout for the boot (mega rare on hatches) most Cav's come with the stupid little triangle lights on them, the one fitted is off a early pre-facelift mk3, and as saloon ones dont fit off the GSI etc it was a massive stroke of luck to find one at my local scrappy, Always prefered the rear boot panel being black on these, adds more of the GTE/GSI look of the Nova's Astras etc, along with the original black SRI grille that was sourced and fitted

After that i got round to sorting the rear arches out, as they had just been pelted full of bog and painted in what looked like some sort of rubber hammerite as you can see in the pics above, this let the whole car down so they needed sorting, both had the dreaded rust cut away and welded, a skim of filler and topstop to sort out any blemishes (Only got photos of one side due to time)

Not really had much to update on this recently, been a very good daily hack for the Summer & Autumn, only thing that went wrong with her is the wires on the fuel pump corroded and had to be re-soldered underneath the rear leg, other than that, she has been 100% spot on! :thumb:

By far one of the most fun cars i've ever owned! This goes away into storage in a'few weeks to keep it away from the winter salt and snow, its just far too clean to use through the winter! Thats when the SR winter hack will come out :thumb:

Not updated this in a few months, she's still a good reliable daily hack, however i'm having to use her through the winter which i didn't want to do, but due to certain circumstances ive had to pick the quick and easy option and renew the insurance on her.

Anyways not really much to update, didn't wash her in over a month and she got filthy, bought a full stainless system for her however i didnt like the way it sat, so i refitted the old system back on.
