the VVC is a great engine.
Think its a fairly common thing to do (its like XE'ing a Nova/Corsa). Should be lots of info about for it.
i'd think its easier than a nova xe swap.
one was on youtube doing 140mph(on clock) on the hinckley bypass & the police were running ads in the paper to see if someone would dob them in......
metro vvc will smoke a nova xe!

My friend built one. But used a gti or whatever the sporty late model metro was, to start with and used part of the 1.4 engine can't remember what parts of the 1400 engine he used but I've owned a few c20xe novas and corsas and there on pare with them. Plus it was simpler to do. Not sure if it was him in Hinckley (he lives in Atherstone) haha

lol that exhaust is a neat idea, not sure on the aero effect though ;o
yeah but why would you want a metro?! possibly the worst thing ive ever driven and ive driven a ford 4000 tractor on 3 wheels and a dead power steering pump.

just for abit of fun what else could you build for under 1k with 150+bhp.

Really impressed by this wee car. Something to think about.

Go for it mate. They're also light as hell as I am sure you know.
Never mind XE Nova's, from what I have seen these Metros run, you will be able to concern the boys with LET's. lol

thats what i was thinking the metros seem to run 14s so about xe times and alot less money but a shot of nitrous and a diff i would think easy in 13s

Arguably you could say the same about any car really though.
I had a metro GTi a few years back, properly pokey little motor, a local lad also had a white one that he spent a shedload on, fully rebuilt engine, cammed, chipped, all the other late 90's early 2000's type mods, and it fooking flew, never went in it, but i saw it racing an astra GTE once, it overtook the astra and buggered off into the distance lol
