Hi all I have Just installed a c20let into my nova and it seems to boil up really fast I have taken out the thermostat and the water pump is pumping water but still it over heats and the heater is still cold. I am just wondering if there is a known problem or it something I have done.

Thanks
Paul

No it's on a 1.8 rad with dual fans and still it over heats even with the fans running

probs what conza said then, you need to bleed the cooling system

Is it over heating or boiling over? Check for air locks, then for head gasket. It shouldn't over temp with no stat.

pipes in right place? they normaly self bleed out small pipe at back of manifold

All the vents cold? or just the center one?

If it's all of them and boiling over i'd say it's more than a air lock, look at HG issues.

How do you know the water pump is working then?

It's quite simple, if there's water in it and its pumping around properly then the hoses should be getting warm. If its not then one of those things are not there.

We could talk about this all day on a forum but you would be better going round checking the basics yourself.

If you have an engine which produces heat, full of circulating water, there must be blocked hoses somewhere for them all to remain cold.

Are the pipes on in right places, the 2 at back of block to heater matrix, and the header tank to the side of head? My mate bought a xe corsa that had been plumbed in wrong

if i remember correct, the return feed from the head goes to the matrix and the rear pipe is feed from header tank
