T5 and 286 dash bulbs the same?

Hi I am looking for new dash bulbs for nova and clocks I have been told I need t5 and 286 but both are the same? Is this right? Thanks dan

T5 is with the large ones with the holder ( side light size ) and 286 are the small ones without the holder you will need t5 for your clocks there are also 286t whitch are the small ones

yer and no the t5 is a 286 with a bulb holder permentaly attached and a 286 is a just the bulb, you may have bulb holders that you can just change bulbs on
