Hi all my vectra c 1.9 cdti is pissing me off

I was driving along today and I turned the heating down a bit

And then it gave out chilled air so I turned it buck up to full and now it's just freezing air coming out

I have got plenty water in car

So I went to scrap yard and got another control panel with the 3 knobs on it and still no joy

I'm thinking its the thermostat now ?

i dont know if vectras suffer the same issue, but alot of the time on nova's the clips that hold the cables get brittle and snap, and you have to lean underneath and manually pull the flap.

can imagine mate, cold as hell up your ways. good you fixed it

Yeah mate I use to use my old nova Sri all yr round use to jam the flap to suit the outside conditions lol

It's got a electric motor to open and shut flap motor was working fine so took motor off and the flap was sticking unjammed it with some ac90 and alls good now

Stupid vectra the day before I had a go at replacing the drop links 5 min job if the nuts weren't rusted over ended up cutting the hoors off with a grinder

i wondered what you meant when you said ' motor ' .. i didnt realise there actually electric.

yeh, rust is a killer, i damn near broke a half inch ratchet coupla weeks ago getting my brake caliper bolts off, they were a bitch all the way out. never seems a big deal in summer, you just get a bigger bar. everythings a pain in the ars3 in winter when your laying in a pool of water under the car.

next month mate, the tables will turn and we'll get a glimpse of some heat on its way. i think this summer im gonna get as many jobs done as i can, so the cars set for 2 years, and i never have to touch it again lol
