I've just been looking at quotes for my xe,

I'm nearly forty with an advanced clean driving licenece so usually for a standard Nova fully comprehensive it's about £90.

I filled out all the stuff for the quote, under modifications I selected non standard, different replacement engine. They did not ask what cc etc.

The quote came back with £150.

This seems very reasonable to me, what sort of prices do other folk my age get?

Assuming this was an online quote, 'non-standard engine' doesn't really work. You'd probably find if you went ahead with it, they'd soon be in touch to confirm the details and possibly withdraw the quote.

I had a quote on a comparison site a while back for the Nova with the B308 listed as 'non-standard engine' option, came back as £200 odd. lol

Be interesting if you did manage to push the quote through to purchase online and get it all arranged without them seeking clarification. As technically you have satisfied their requirements by informing them of the change as requested

£100 says this was an online quote and when you ring up to ask and take the policy out, they will tell you the price is wrong.

My renewal is due 14th this month at £241

27yo, no points or convictions, 0 NCB (used on another policy).

20xe Nova, Fuel intake modifications (twin 45's), Gearbox mod (Quaife SCCR), suspension, brakes, alloys, full cage and upholstery change (buckets + harnesses).

Yours sounds about right to me.

£90 for fully comp on a standard Nova sounds too good to be true also, generally insurance doesn't seem to get much cheaper than the £200 area, from my experience at least.

Usually under the hundred since I've been 30. I always go for hign excess because they will never realistically pay for repairs to a Nova, they'll just right it off.

Well i just tried mine on a well known comparison site lol

Im 25, 7 years ncb, 3 points 3 years ago, Engine change, interior modifications, wheels, suspension, exhaust colour change, decals etc etc............. £155 one off payment or £190/ £15.64 pm

Bound to be wrong! Saying that i put a low value of £1000 (which i will change i think) in and the excess of £350

I was £600 odd a couple of years ago to insure it......

That means diddly squat. Ok it may change the premium by a few quid, but in terms of a payout they won't bat an eyelid at what you think its worth or what you paid for it. [edit] I'm talking the value you put in on a quote here, not agreed value.

My insurance on the GT4 almost halved when I hit 30 lol

Ive being with graham sykes the last few years and they`ve been great. Ive swopped cars acouple of times mid term and they havent taken the piss like most have in the past. Really good customer services with people who have a grasp of the english language. Cant fault them.
