are all the gears switchable / customizable between these 2 boxes ?
The complete cluster will fit and exchange between both boxes. You will have to change the pinion gear to suit the crown wheel though.

oh the one next to 5th gear, in the outer casing, gotcha.
cheers guys
No, you are looking at the wrong end.......
The pinion is the gear that drives the diff. As said circlip pliers and a decent puller will get it off. Some slide off in your hands others can be really tight!

oh, ok lol i was way off
ill remember for when i do it :thumb:
The cluster can be removed from the box while the box is still in the car. With the cluster out and inspected, the very last gear on the end of the cluster appears to be on it's own, and doesn't appear to be in contact with any other gears. Thats the pinion gear which drives the crown wheel on the differential unit that is still in the box. When fitting the new cluster ensure that you fit the correct pinion gear to the cluster. Simple swaps. Good luck fella.
