Hi folks,
I'v recently bought a set of genuine Vauxhall 256mm x 24mm discs and pads. Part number: 93175469.

I'm having trouble finding ATE calipers to suit these. Am I going to have to go to the scrappy?? Would preferably like to buy new but cant seem to find any on the t'interweb.

Can anyone point me in the right direction??

Cheers
Ian

If you really are after some new, im sure it would be pretty hard to, have you tried a brake caliper refurb place? if not just clean some up, it doesnt take that long and its worth saving a few bob. Ive got a spare pair somewhere

Of you can find them.brand.new, I doubt you will want to pay the price!
If you cba, then buy reconditioned units.

Refurb your own is the sensible way though.

I have just rebuilt my Escort calipers.
24 quid for a Bigg Red seal kit, and 2 quid for some red grease.
As long as your pistons aren't too bad, then it's a safe and very cheap way of doing it.

Yeah reconditioned units are an option, not going to get new ones. Know any for sale reconditioned?

Your average run of the mill auto factors should be able to supply reconditioned calipers on an exchange with your original ones. Mine does.

Its so easy to rebuild calipers yourself and make scruffy old ones look like brand new again, you can buy new seals and even new pistons. Spend the time sanding the calipers down (wire wheels on a drill makes it easier), put some paint on and nobody would ever know they wern't fresh off the shelf.
