im seing this from time to time, and never really understood it :confused:

is there much gain ?
any dowsides to it ?

and how do the home-made silicone mounts compare to the machine made variety ?

Basically they stop movement of your engine when breaking and accelerating, a fantastic upgrade IMO.

Plenty of people say there cars/dashes rattle like hell but I didn't really have much of a problem tbh.

You can just tigerseal an existing set of mounts which is still better than a 15-20 year old rubber set.

because you are most likely to be replacing 20 year old o.e rubber mounts; the difference will be huge. Will feel much more 'together'

Gearchanges with engine rock due to worn bushes kept poping gear linkages om my old v6
