Does anybody regularly follow any other amazing build threads on other forums? I'm bored and need something to read to keep me entertained today plus I love really good build threads!:thumb:

I think this build is pretty special personally (to get the ball rolling)

Always builds worth reading on here BUILDTHREADS (http://www.build-threads.com/)

I hate build threads with a passion as its 9/10 full of people kissing ass or arguing over something when all I want to see is the posts with pics or from the OP lol
Wonder if there are filters that can be setup on vbulletin etc to do that :D

the best ones ive read are the ones where the 'builder' has only one post and edits it each time rather than having several successive update posts.

saves trawling through 20 + endless pages of discussion and "woah this is good" rubbish just to see the build progress

you could just skim through the threads and only look at the op's posts, thats how i read iains and spudlys and a fair few others

I like to look at most of them and the hard work that goes in to them.

I normally just skip through and look at the pictures from the poster normally. Some good ones on the build threads website though, cheers for the link!

but I dont want to have to skim through loads of pages just to get to the OP's stuff lol

Is that because the words are hard to read?? :thumb:

Joking about mate. Having read most of your thread, I should really start one for mine but after not having anything to do with it except for removing the engine for time being...

Sometimes constructive criticism is exactly what you need in a build thread, ideas and such. Yes the ass kissing is annoying but a "wow, that looks well good" can be a powerful motivation tool, how many times have we seen build threads stop due lack of motivation??

Haven't got links but some good ones I've read over the years (and worth googling)...

American mk1 golf (Rabbit??) with 4x4 R32 running gear
Carbon fibre space framed mk2 golf (Norwegian?)
V8 or v10 powered e30 BMW
Wasn't their a evo engined 106?
The Mighty Minor Morris Minor with the 200SX running gear, that thread was locked and vanished

I love the mk2 golf HERE (http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19402)

Seen it in the flesh at the local dragstrip, and its bloody vicious, one of the most violent accelerating cars ive seen there :d

these aren't so much 'build threads' but professional resto's. Anyone who waves a spanner cant help but admire the work (and cash) that has gone in. Some of the cars will have you jizzing in your pants.

That is some skilled fabrication!

I think I need to get myself on a welding/sheet metal fabrication course and start building something ready to use when I retire in 35 years lol!

Cyco's escort is the stuff of dreams, the planning and skill in the drawings for the suspension alone are worthy of recognition, let alone the standard of the car.
