Hi

How do i remove the lock barrel from the fuel cap?

if its the standard grey fuel cap I think theres a c clip on the centre barrel.


TBH it aint worth fixing if its fecked - get yerself a nice aloy one - theyre only ?20 and you get a new shiney key with it!

thanks for the reply ade.

It's the one with the flap over the key hole(mk2)

there is no c clip on the back of the barrel.

i wanna take it apart to colour code it , not cos its broke.

put a piece of masking tape over the key lock and and cut it into shape with a blade.
why you want to colour code the under side of the flap anyway?

i have 2 caps, one is from a new set and the other is from my old set, i want to colour the old one and put the lock from the new one in the old one which would be colour coded, if you get me?

he wouldnt have a problem if he didnt have to be so darn complicated!!! :lol: i got one in front of me and ive broke it to pieces trying to get it apart
