hey all, are these the type of thing i need so i can secure a car on a trailer with ratchet straps?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321077120300

if so, do they get welded on horizontally so the strap hook can pull up into it?

thanks

they will work. as a rule, they are put on vertically & you use the loop bit of the hook to attach.

vosa can get sniffy if the hook isn't of a welded design

its always best to strap the car down by its wheels. you can get a proper length of strap with 2 rectangular loops so that you make a loop of strap round the wheel, then when you ratchet it down, the car doesn't move..

i bought a set of 4 ratchet straps that fit on the wheels already, so im heading in the right direction.

i was thinking to do them vertically but thought that it would pull tighter horizontally, cant find many pics on the net, or im not searching correctly.
