I'm currently fitting a airbox on the Sport

I have done away with the standard AFM hose and bought some silicone bends and a take off adapter thing, as below

This is the bit I'm after opinions on, in the pic below is the inside diameter of the adapter on the left, and the hose on the right is the diameter of the rest of the pipe work

As the adapter has a smaller inside diameter, will this cause any problems?

It probably won't cause too much trouble being smaller, as the icv only takes a small percentage of the airflow. Could you run a drill down the inside to open it out, or will it weaken it too much?

Would weaken it I reckon

I could of got the 16mm one but then the pipe work will be Mega Mega tight

I'm probably worrying too much maybe

What diameter is it and what RPM does the 1.3 idle at?

900 rpm

The pipe work is all 13mm, but the hole in the adapter is just over 9mm

Should be fine, that 13mm pipe would have fit over something in the first place, if it was 1mm thick you'd be down to 11 anyway.

Making rough guesstimations from the flow velocity through a set of twin 40's compared to your idle valve you'd have to be running at 70% volumetric efficiency at idle, which is just a touch high, to hit the same flow velocity as 40's at 9000 RPM on a 1.3 (which they'll easily do I imagine)... but that was mostly for my entertainment lol

Cheers for that

I'm being over cautious really but always better to check
