View Full Version : let xev head difference?
Is there any difference? Corrosion has eaten quite a lot of my let head
As in Z LET and XEV ?
If yes then no there is no difference, I fitted a XEV head on my ZLET after it started to fall to bits
Yes that's what I meant. You heard of anyone using an xev crank in the let?
I haven't tbh
I think a XEV bottom is the same as a ZLET apart from the pistons, check EPC?
I did remove the balance shaft unit from my ZLET, bottom end tho, that made a world of difference
If your fitting another head I'd do the stem seals first
Yes im removing the balancing shafts and was a thinking of he xev crank as that won have the drive gear for them so would be lighter? The head along with the rest of the engine will be rebuilt anyway

I'm fairly sure I've seen someone use an XEV crank before :)

The xev block is a better block than the zlet it doesn't use a balancer shaft but still has a girdle and it doesn't have open water ways like a let or leg it's more like a clet. The zlet and leh suffer from the rear of cylinder 3 blowing out due to the size of the water way
Ok then what about a x22xe bottom end?
Looks th same to me. Head is identicle to the xev

Almost sure the 2.2 just uses a dissent piston size same rods and crank etc to the 2.0. Are you chasing big power burgo?
This says 86 bore.

Not really but was going to rebuilt the 2l but this is available for £50 and I figured for £50 the 200cc might be worth it
xev heads are different, let head have sodium filled valves cant remember if its inlet or outlet though. also the exhaust ports are bigger and the exhaust valves are smaller apparantly!
