My oil pressure gauge recently started jumping about like a 5 year on Haribo, then stopeed working all together. It has now started working again but again is jumping about.

Any thoughts on what can be causing this and how to solve it?

It's on a standard 1.3SR.

Thanks.

Sensor on the engine/oil pump I reckon

Loose connection and/or broken wire. I'd get under neath the car armed with WD-40 and a pair of pliers and clean the plug on the back of the pressure sensor, clean it out with WD-40. I cant rememeber what the plug is like on a SR, but if it is loose whilst plugged in, then use the pliers to slightly crush it so that it makes a better connection.
If this doesn't help, then look at the connection on the back of the clocks. It is a spade connection, by itself, the connects on the back of the clocks where the oil pressure gauge.

The oil pressure sensor is on the drivers back corner of the bottom the engine block, probably has two wires/plugs on it.
It's unlikely the wiring is broken. Hope this helps.
