I nearly went for it a few years ago but got scared just before signing on the dotted line. I've just gone for Contact lenses instead
WEll done for being brave enough to go through with it. I'd love to have 20/20 vision without faffing
Was scary cut my eyes open with a mechanical cutter that flicks round the middle bit, my heart starting beating flat out, the lady asked if I had heart problems, I said I do now,
then the laser came in and gave it a skim and it smelt like burning hair worst 10 mins of my life but fingers crossed it was worth it,
got done in the back of optical express on the high street so when I walked out everyone walking about would of thought I'm a helmet wearing sunglasses and looked like I was crying my eyes were running that much my cheeks had tears running down them lol

Thanks I couldn't get contacts in my eye or I would have not bothered getting surgery, I hate wearing glasses under my helmet when I'm out on the bike
reading that sounds painfull on its own dude
I'm seriously considering have it done
Can't wear lenses and hate glasses
Was it very expensive? If you don't mind me asking

I got consultation 2 weeks ago and was told 2200 for top of range my mates the manager there and he spoke to the specialist about me and he pulled up my file and specialist said if I get custom vue or standard after 2 months I wouldn't notice the difference,
at the time when i booked standard was £395 an eye now £595 tho
then I got a refer a friend voucher for £500 off off on eBay so I paid £290 plus the £3 voucher
I can't get it, apparently laser can't fix astigmatism
THANK FCUK lol
sorry,op, but if i was planning eyesight altering surgery, i wouldn't be relying on getting a voucher off ebay for it...
my sis in law had it done, she reckons its great, but we know she still can't see too well

As i Said my mates the manager at optical express and he told me what to do to get a good deal, I reviewed the surgeon she had done 25000 ops in the past will 5 star reviews,
I was gonna pay full price for the custom vue plus wavefront but he head specialist told my mate that in 2 months I wouldn't notice the difference,
just because its a deal with a voucher doesn't mean it's a crap job done after all optical express is a very well recognised company

did they do both eyes at the same time?
Lol that's funny they did one then the other but in the space of 10mins each

Did it hurt? Seriously considering this myself (when I can afford it(read: never)) and all the research I've found says that you just sit there while they cut open your eye...
If you can see thru getting your eye cut open when your awake that freaked me out but it was fine not sore at all I had been worried for weeks then its all over in 20 mins, they said take some paracetamol but I didn't bother had no discomfort just had a sleep and woke up seeing great

i didnt mean that. lol
usually with eyes, cataract ops for example, only one is done at a time and the other is done when the first is completely healed due to risk of infection.
you only have 2 eyes and loosing the sight in one would be bad enough!
She asked if I could still see before doing the 2nd eye so that was enough lol
Think they like doing to for balanced vision or something like that I know a good few people that's had it done and love the results

they cut your eye open !?!? and lazered underneath !.... jesus christ
my visions fec't. i used to be able to see a flea jump off a stray cat, from 500 yards away, now im reduced to about a metre and a half of detail and its gradually gets hazier to infinity
and poor reaction time from the eyes also. as they dont focus as fast.. what a bitch i tell ya
