hey guys, has any body used a yoko ad08 tyre? looking for some reviews on there performance when pushed hard, theyll be used mainly as cheap track tyres.

before anybody mentions any other brands of tyres etc, i need a 185/55/15 size and have got to be reasonably priced.

i have been advised that they are on par with the r888 by the yoko rep, apparently the ao08 is much beyond the r888.

so, how do you users rate them?

I have these tyres all round on my gt4. It's by far the best tyres I have used on that car anyway, Grips the road like in rails (in the dry that is) shocking in the wet though, the back end just steps out.

I heard they were quite good in the wet, guess it depends on the application.

Maybe shocking wasn't the best word to use for them in the wet, but it is a bit tail happy coming off roundabouts etc

They're decent in the wet too

was taken with a pinch of salt. lol. the toyo rep has agreed that the yokos are better than the r888s, unsure if he meant the ao48s tho.

a 195 r888 is too wide and i have minimal clearance on the rear, any normal car tyre 195 is ok (as i have 195/40/16s as road tyres). was going for more clearance incase under hard cornering on track they decided to rub.

i can get the 185/55/15 yoko for £54 plus vat per tyre, or the 195/50/15 for £48
