Feeling nostalgic today flicking through some old pvs photographs.

Is it about time we showed some love for the cars of yesteryear or are they best off forgotten?

Don't worry I'm not building a kitted nova...

Ha ha some beauties there southie. The green 1 with all the air brushing is almost Un-identifiable as a nova.
Has the Matt black 1 been roof chopped? I've never seen a nova roof chopped before!!

I know there well out of date and un fashionable these days but back in the day there were some very well built ones about. I think it was the total vauxhall page on Facebook posted a dark blue kingdom kitted nova with 19" wheels a few weeks back and it actually looked pretty good, if anything else you have to admire the work that's gone in to it.

Ive met you before then, me and my mate Rob were the ones who bought your red 1.2 saloon a good few years back, that was a nice looking motor, it did make me laugh when you removed and fitted the speedo cable on the loon as youd borrowed it for the let a couple of days earlier lol

Yeah that's the one, lad sold it to a garage in wrexham before I bought it. Had it for about 6 months, never lifted a spanner to it and sold it on for what I paid so can't complain! Had too many things on at the time or I'd have stripped her down and freshened her up

Damnit, i saw it on ebay as a classified ad at a garage, i cant remember who i asked, but someone said they knew the car and it wasnt the same one that i knew of lol

AndyRandz
24-02-13, 12:02 AM
That would have been the one. It was advertised for £4495. Ridiculous price even though it was a nice car. Guy must have sold it me in desperation as a paid a lot lot less than that! I've spoken to lots of people who knew the car pre my ownership but not heard a single mention of it since I sold it. Went to by congelton, staffs. I've dvla checked it recently and it's taxed until may where ever it may be!

Ive just checked and its declared sorn for now, i remember seeing it on ebay for £4495, i even asked my mate if that was the same one as i thought it was but he wasnt sure, i was certain though, definately the one, i remember it having calibra leather interior and no doorcards in the front, was it like that when you bought it?

AndyRandz
24-02-13, 12:11 AM
Must have been sorn recently as I did it about a month ago. Yeah definitely the one. Full leather recaro interior. Did have leather matching door cards mind you. It owed me £2800 as i swapped my c20xe nova and £800. Was never keen on the lights, especially those indicators and m3 mirrors. Blisteringly quick motor though, fastest let nova I've been in. Best handling big block nova I've been in too

Talke pits is the exact area it went to. I remember this for certain as I left £200 in the ash tray when I sold the guy the car and had to drive there the next day! Oops

Ha ha bummer!! Talks pits isn't to far from here either probably about 5 miles away, again can't say as Ive seen it about but don't know many people from that area. I'll give you a shout if I ever see it about.

So then Novalew has that 1 gone now? Looks, umm different.

I think body kits will come round again 1 day, maybe novas are to old for it now but I do think theyll make a return in the car scene 1 day.

24-02-13, 11:38 AM
However horrendous we all think kitted novas/cars in general are today, i will always have a soft spot for them because these are the cars that got me into the modified car scene 10+years ago.

And i agree with what mr doodar has said, i believe they will return one day.....

Thought it was amazing.. Rolled up to a Mig meet like it. Mike took this photo which i saw that night. The next day i stripped it all off and ordered a brand new GSI front bumper from Vauxhall. Never looked back since.
