Nice.

Though the pics pixellated, so it hides any imperfections. If there are any.

Same with my bumpers etc.. they are all a different finish compared to the paintwork. How long did you spend sanding down mate? And what did you use? Just sand paper or a sander? What grades of sandpaper and how many coats of primer and paint?

Looks like a good job mate, although I think those numberplates are pretty illegal

Yes, i am a little sceptical about the plates too.

They're clamping down on things like that now. Be careful mate.

to both of you, too long is my answer.

I got a handle from a scrappers removed the lock and barrel.

used rough sand paper to remove the bobble effect. when that was smooth i started using wet and dry, use dry first then wet to smooth.

these are the grades i used,

400
400
800
1200
1500

it was very smooth at that.

cleaned it
halfords plastic primer kept applying light coats, sanding every so many when dry with 1500 wet and dry,(wet)

bout 6 coats of primer if i remember correctly. leave to dry for 3 days i think. lightly sanded again, colour

same proccess as primmer, build up the paint in light layers, alternating in crosshatch pattern to cover all the handle.

bout 4 or 5 coats of colour on mine.

IMPORTANT

leave to cure for 7 - 14 days, i left mine 3 weeks and one week it was out in the hot sun to bake!!!!!

use halfords rubbing compound to get a nice flate even shine.

clean it

polish it. i used autoglym super resin polish, apply, buff off, six coats! then buff up to shine and admire work,

job done. takes ages but results are worth it :D

hope it helps

Frog, have ago again at it and see if you can get a better finish, don't really know about the shine sorry.

Right my next items to colour code are the handles and the lock surrounds. all prepped and sanded smooth

Right the handle is a rubber type stuff , so what primer would i need? is normal plastic primer ok for the job?

Cheers
