i think i got a problem with one of my pulleys. the one in question is the big pulley near the bottom that has the fanbelt and something to do with the power steering, so the mechanic said. it has a lot of play in it.sort of wobbles.

whats he on about?does this make sense?
is this a big problem and how hard will it be for me to do it myself?

well in that case he must be on about yer bottom pulley. two belts run off it. the fan/alternator and power steering pump. obviously you aren't usin the p.a.s but he was probably just refering to the pully as this one

yup brian, exactly that one, is this easy to change? if i leave it will it cause long time damage?roughly how much for new pulley or can i get bearings for it?

There shouldn't be any play in it. It should just bolt up solid to the sproket. Check that it is tight, and if there is play, give a better description, is something broken?

as MC said have a closer look as if its tight them there is something more serious wrong. the pully its self is easy change if its just warped (dont know how it would go warped) and you could get one from a scrappy
