would it be ok to put a pearl blue in the laquer to give the paint a differnt kind of flip? and has anyone ever done this? would it be ok to use metal flake on top without it looking like loads of stuff has been rammed on it?

the Lacquer stays as lacquer and the paint goes on first

As Brian says - the base coat or main colour goes on 1st then depending on the effet you spray different tinted lacquers on top.

Mixing metal flakes with lacquer looks mental but you've got to appl;y them properly otherwise it'll look like a bad kids picture using glitter!

Personally if you aint used them before, I'd leave it to a proper spray shop that specialises in that sort of thing.
