Anyone on here ever own one (or your girlfriend lol), ive seen a fair few going cheap on gumtree and ebay and was wondering what there like to drive, live with and work on?

do they really suffer from lots of overheating problems or is it a case of people never fixing them properly and looking after them?

dont even bother
there no better than your normal rover 40k and the head will go and if you do any thing with the cooling system your have more trouble than you want there is 3 bleed screws that you have to undo to make sure you get all the air out of the system there a paint in the butt...

they were under-developed. the gaskets fail due to crap o rings.

what's wrong with an mx5 instead... bombproof mucky bits & more street cred.

true the only problem i had with my mx5 was the rads top hose letting go, but that could happen to any car really

was just wondering what its like to drive a mid engined rwd car and there cheaper then mr2s etc..

Freelander headgasket kit and a remote thermostat kit, problem solved.

The only big swine is the coolant pipes under the car are mild steel so rot fast and leak. ******* of a job apparently.

Get one with leather and AP 4 pots. At least then when it does break you can make some money back on it.

well the early ones had mild steel pipe work (or gippo stainless) that rotted.

I've recently bought a '97 VVC MGF, not on the road yet.

I used to test parts for them, last drove one in '96!

Engines are fine if the headgaskets are done properly with a multi layer gasket.

Parts aren't too bad

They have issues, but are cheap

Should be a hoot on the road soon

Could also bee eating my works soon!lol

1.0 Micra is a superb little car (for what they are).

I've seen early X plate Roadsters for a grand. Depends where you look.
