View Full Version : Strutbrace for XE...
I'm trying to keep a strict budget so if anyone has one 2nd hand please let me know!! I've found this on eBay:
<snip, no ebay links>
Am I right in thinking I'll have to take off the SFi box to fit a front brace? I've been told a decent powercap is a good mod for the Redtop?
Thanks, Greg
I'd struggle to justify spending £70 on a strut brace! Powercaps have mixed reviews but I like them for the space saving, and as you say should clear a strut brace.
I have that one and its very tight against the power cap, but ok

Mine had the same brace and powercap, and it fitted fine. Engine on solid mounts helps too.
I think with most strut braces you will need to run a poo'er cap as all of them will foul the SFi box, shame in my opinion as i dont like poo'er craps lol
Mr Potato on his powercap bashing again...!
Sorry, didn't realise no eBay links! If I can't find one 2nd hand I may make 1up so I'll keep this updated :thumb:
tbh, I try a 2nd hand one, there's nothing that can break on them!
Turn the strut brace round.

Nothing wrong with what i wrote dude, merely said in my opinion as i dont like them?
Yep, had one on my old xe, was already there when i bought it, i firmly believe/know my current one is way faster, but i mean i dont like them due to looks, they look like a bodge imo!

Think about making proper rarbs too while your there. That hang off the beam whiteline style. I'd buy that for a dollar!

Please excuse me (again) for digging up an old post but to confirm my pic above (blue merit with red brace) is an SR style strutbrace which has been cut and rewelded so the kink was on the correct side to miss the standard SFI box.
