right i want to use the bucket seats original sliders on the bottom nova seat frames

as the buckets sliders are much narrower then the nova frame, i want to run steel across the width of the nova frame, bolt it down and then drill and bolt the seats to the metal

dont know if you guys think this is safe or not, seems a safe enough plan to me, and its got to be stronger then my **** welds lol

i will be using locklite and or nylock bolts where ever possible aswell

what thickness steel should i be using to do this?

The problem being if it's too narrow it'll flex, you'll be able to go narrower if there's no room to flex

not being rude but if your worrying about it sitting too high, get some proper mounts i,e the recaro ones or whatever and use them. i welded my old cally turbo heated leathers to nova frames and it sat alot higher up than standard nova seats, as in my head touched the roof lining if i sat up properly lol

the way i was thinking of doing it with a flat bar the seat would have proberly sat lower then a standard nova seat tbh, i just think having a 1" box under the seat and then a frame on top of that will be really high

i did looked at tailored frames to mount the seat, but if i remember right they were over 150 quid each!! so i wont be buying them mate lol

What you're wanting to do is exactly what i've done with my Cobra Monaco's. They are very solid and secure:

personally id use 5mm, but thats just me. them bases look completely different to the ones i used so it should sit fine, therefore ignore what i previously said lol
